The river rolls by, as if time does not apply, twenty-fours a day, week in and week out. And as the water washes your feet, stop and consider this one fact of life. “Each and every drop of this water is accounted for. Not one drop is left over at the end of the journey.”
For most Americans, the Lottery is their only real solution to a retirement life of luxury. The American Dream fell beside the way a long, long time ago. Our elected officials they promise us change, but unfortunately, our life savings amount to a small coffee can on top of the refrigerator and that is about it.
Allow me to tell you about the Mexican Fisherman.
A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them. “Not very long,” answered the Mexican.
“But then, why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?” asked the American.
The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.
The American asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
“I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs … I have a full life.”
The American interrupted, “I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you.”
“You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat. With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers.”
“Instead of selling your fish to a middleman, you can negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge enterprise.”
“How long would that take?” asked the Mexican.
“Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,” replied the American.
“And after that?”
“Afterwards? That’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the American, laughing. “When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!”
“Millions? Really? And after that?”
“After that you’ll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta, and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends!”
Now if you are like most folks you have more month than you have money here lately. I know that is true in my case, all of the time. If you have found yourself a little bit short of coin, or outta scrilla as the youngsters say, this might explain it in more detail.
It is an eye opener for sure.
We’re having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave … American’s are sweltering in the heat and there seems to be no relief in sight. No power and what is on line, is severely strained to the point of brownouts, I believe they are called “rolling black outs” now. This is what happens to a country that sits back and ignores its infrastructure and invests all of its resources in wars and defense of enemies that somehow never seem to materialize.
Speaking of defense, I have it on good authority, that the last soldier in the War on Drugs died this week ….. Of old age.
We desperately need to prioritize our goals and do a little internal house cleaning in this country … that is … If there is time left for us to do that what needs to be done. We are almost to the point of not knowing c’mere from sick ’em. This latest boon-doggle from the U.S. Supreme Court is a fairly good indicator.
For the first time in a long, long while the inflow of illegals into this country has ceased, it is now a negative number. This could be because of the new policy of posting huge billboards along the U.S. – Mexican border displaying job statistic’s in English and Spanish on this robust economy we are now suffering … uh … living in.
To help save the economy, the Government will announce next month that the Immigration Department will start deporting seniors (instead of illegals) in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. They figure that o lder people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back home. I started to cry when I thought of some of you. Then it dawned on me … I’ll Probably see you on the bus!
What else we got?
Let me see …
Johnstown, PA (GlossyNews) – Local and state police scoured the hills outside rural Johnstown, Pennsylvania, after reports of three animal rights activists going missing after attempting to protest the wearing of leather at a large motorcycle gang rally this weekend. Two others, previously reported missing, were discovered by fast food workers “duct taped inside fast food restaurant dumpsters,” according to police officials. ”Something just went wrong,” said a still visibly shaken organizer of the protest.
“Something just went horribly, horribly, wrong.”
The organizer said a group of concerned animal rights activist groups, “growing tired of throwing fake blood and shouting profanities at older women wearing leather or fur coats,” decided to protest the annual motorcycle club event “in a hope to show them our outrage at their wanting to use leather in their clothing and motor bike seats.”
“In fact,” said the organizer, “motorcycle gangs are one of the biggest abusers of wearing leather, and we decided it was high time that we let them know that we disagree with them using it, ergo, they should stop.” According to witnesses, protesters arrived at the event in a vintage 1960’s era Volkswagen Van and began to pelt the gang members with balloons filled with red colored water, simulating blood, and shouting “you’re murderers” to passers by. This, evidently, is when the brouhaha began.
“They peed on me!!!” charged one activist.
“They grabbed me, said I looked like I was French, started calling me ‘La Trene’, and duct taped me to a tree so they could pee on me all day!” Still others claimed they were forced to eat hamburgers and hot dogs under duress. Those who resisted were allegedly held down while several bikers “farted on their heads.”
Police officials declined comments on any leads or arrests due to the ongoing nature of the investigation; however, organizers for the motorcycle club rally expressed “surprise” at the allegations. ”That’s preposterous,”said one high-ranking member of the biker organizing committee. “We were having a party, and these people showed up and were very rude to us. They threw things at us, called us names, and tried to ruin the entire event. So, what did we do? We invited them to the party! What could be more friendly than that?
You know, just because we are all members of motorcycle clubs does not mean we do not care about inclusiveness. Personally, I think it shows a lack of character for them to be saying such nasty things about us after we bent over backwards to make them feel welcome.” When confronted with the allegations of force-feeding the activists meat, using them as ad hoc latrines, leaving them incapacitated in fast food restaurant dumpsters, and ‘farting on their heads,’ the organizer declined to comment in detail. “That’s just our secret handshake,” assured the organizer.
You want to put me on a bus? Hey, I got one all picked out.
Where do I sign up?

Your Tax Dollars At Work … Did you know that you are paying for children that live in Mexico, to the tune of billions of dollars in relief, because of an I.R.S. loophole? Well, you are. Wouldn’t it be nice, to sit down in April, and list not only YOUR children, but your niece and nephews as dependents, who do not live with you, who are not even in this country, and then in return get a huge tax return?
Now we come to how much money we are we talking about here? Would you believe, all of this, which has been in place and being abused for over ten years, is going down the tubes each year to the tune of $4.2 billion dollars (annually) and that 22 million undocumented illegals are currently being shown on the rolls taking full advantage of this Tax Code Loophole. A loophole that the video says “the I.R.S. is unwilling to fix.”
Sound too good to be true, well unfortunately, it isn’t.
Click on the link and watch the video.
It’s just about enough to make a body sick. Our Government makes it so easy for them, but when YOU need help … Well, you know the rest of it dontcha?

We ate Chinese today, there is a little place on the south side of town, been eating there for 15-20 years. We have watched the owners’ children grow up, go thru school and on to college, seen the place change decor a couple of times over the years. We have been good, steady customers of this nice small restaurant for quite a long time.
Because we had moved to the country, we had not eaten there in a couple of years, and as luck would have it, today we found ourselves there in the midst of the lunch crowd at a little booth in the back of the room. The food as always was super and we were hungry so it made for a good mix. In some ways, it was almost like before, old home week, call it what you want.
Except for one thing, and that is this.
“No one in the room was speaking English, the entire restaurant had been taken over by people of Mexican and/or Hispanic origin. And no one was speaking the King’s English. Which is, if you are like me, a person who doesn’t speak the language or understand Spanish, well, it was just a lot of noise. Unfortunately, it kind of took away from the meal and it was upsetting.”
It appears that I am now officially in the minority in this country, a white, tax paying member of society. I am also slowly but surely being run out or pushed aside by more than one race of people who were not born here. Mexican’s and Asian’s are now the two fastest growing segments of our society in America. They are also a lot different from what I am used to.
The Mexicans are proud of their country, culture and lifestyle and try to preserve it as much as possible even when they are living anywhere other than Mexico. The Mexican Americans however don’t have to make much effort as the neighboring countries have quite a lot in common.
So, the Mexican American culture is a blend of the culture of both countries, while distinctly being Mexican. This cultural blend stands out amongst many other ethnic groups living in the USA. Now on the other hand, the American Culture, such as it is, fragmented, diverse, and very much mixed, doesn’t stand much of a chance of survival in this day and age.
Mexicans while very big on family life (the center of their culture really) are doing well and thriving. While on the American side of the scale, they are divorcing in record numbers and the family unit is quickly disappearing in this country.
A lot of these people are being provided benefits for free, all they had to do is show up. I had to serve six years in the military in order to qualify for some of mine (the very few I have left). Most of us had to go to school, graduate and learn a skill before going to work. All they had to do is cross what was or is basically an open border. The truly sad thing is the way they are exploited by those who hold the purse strings, and often, entered into almost involuntary servitude (wage slavery) by American businessmen.
Only a few pay taxes, in my home state only one in five bother to purchase car insurance, they quickly sign up for social programs and assistance, not only for themselves, but their entire family. In other words, they don’t play by the rules, take more than they give back. Now I know that sounds harsh, but it is a proven reality in this country and has been this way for a long time.
You know, if you take a frog and dump him in a pot of hot water, he will jump right out. But take the same frog, place him in a pan of cold water, then apply the heat slowly just a little at a time, and he will stay in the pot until he dies.
“Because you changed his environment, a little bit at a time, not all at once.”
Same thing here. Inch by inch, slowly but surely, the fabric of this country is being re-arranged. The signage is slowly shifting to Spanish first and English second, one milepost at a time, this country is going down the tubes (the America that I grew up in and loved).
Today, while sitting in this noisy crowded little restaurant it came home to haunt me. I am slowly becoming a stranger in my own land, and of course, I resent it. This is no longer an immigration issue, this is colonization of a country, plain and simple.
And I honestly feel I have to wonder about this one simple fact of life.
In the end, will there be any room left for me?
RELATED: SNEAKING INTO AMERICA
Bought my fuel yesterday and it came to $79.02 which of course “shocked me somewhat.” I have to admit, I was not ready for that, later on during the trip to town I amused myself by imagining that “I am only steps away from a one-hundred dollar tankful.” Who in their wildest dreams would have ever imagined such a thing. Certainly … not me.
Some things and I suppose, people, age well. Some things I suppose, like people, just get old. Get cantankerous, out of sorts, and hard to deal with. I often fall into that second category. I didn’t fare all that well last week in the smile department, but this week, I am going to do better. I am going to make a “concentrated effort to smile more, amuse myself, cheer up even if it kills me.”
This past week I have been suffering thru irritable male syndrome. My testosterone levels have been lower than a New Orleans levy at flood stage and my brain, the part of my brain that is in charge of basic’s such as functioning, emotions, behavior, have been strangely out to lunch for most of the week.
The mere thought of me smiling about anything here lately, is as foreign to me as Obama speaking in Farsi when he begs for more oil. I desperately want to smile, just isn’t all that much of a humorous nature here lately. But I am gonna do better.
I have made up my mind that I AM GOING TO GO FOR IT!
Perhaps I need to get more sleep, that might be the problem. I am finding out as I age, I need at least 8 hours of sleep a day, and 10 hours at night. Sleep is the best thing, and the cheapest thing available to me these days. I love to sleep, the best of two worlds, you get to be alive and unconscious at the same time. And on some days, you can actually work in a nap.
That makes me smile.
It is not easy to say exactly what makes one box of odds and ends a valuable antique, and what makes another box a piece of junk. But the thought of tossing one (out of our garage, which is full of the trash of man) into a dumpster …. That makes me smile. It might be that throwing stuff away that is cluttering up your home is a cathartic experience that just feels good. That too, makes me smile.
The mere thought of it upsetting the little woman’s applecart, that is just an added bonus … Hey, we are on a roll.
Not being able to yell out “Oh boy!” in Jonesboro, Georgia, or finding out that unrestrained giggling on the street is illegal in Helena, Montana; those insane laws make me smile. It is illegal in the state of Oklahoma to tie your ass up within 50 ft of a courthouse, ass meaning donkey. Which would be appropriate term for anyone drafting such legislation or allowing it to remain on the books. Purchasing a new car for thousands of dollars in order to save hundreds on gas … that makes me smile.
When they announce on the news that they have busted some hooker and she has a black book that is full of politicians names …… that makes me smile.
Reading in the paper that the longest earthworm ever found in the world measured 22 ft. from head to toe, that makes me smile, I mean, where would one ever use stupid useless information like that? Did you know that the word Mascara, a cosmetic applied to darken eyelashes comes from the Spanish word ma’scara, which in terms come from the Italian maschera, both of which mean, appropriately, “mask.” The root of the words however come for Arabic maskharah, which means buffoon or clown.
Which is what I would be if I lived in San Francisco and used the stuff, that makes me smile.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have all the answers, and ninety percent of the time, I completely forget the questions. My family physician told me that I have something he called Attention Deficit Disorder. He said, “A.D.D. is a complex disorder, blah, blah, blah.” I didn’t pay much attention to the rest of it.
This friend of mine, who happens to be from California, is back here to visit with the family. We went out to eat yesterday and he said during lunch, “If you were to go camping out in the woods, and someone, late at night, snuck into your tent and molested you would you tell anyone about it?” And I thought about it a minute, and replied, “No way. I don’t want no one to know something that terrible happened to me!” He smiled and then said ……… “You wanna go fishin’ this weekend?” ….
That … Makes me smile.
So as you can see, I am just about clueless. Happy and stupid this morning, pour me another cup of that coffee and don’t worry about my road rage, I will take care of it. I don’t have any idea what makes some people smile and others to frown. I don’t know why some people consistently have a “nice day” and others never seem to see it materialize.
This morning, at this very moment, I am smiling a great deal, because the computers’ ISP is down, the stoooopid computer doesn’t know this, and it keeps trying to update me, download me, and is getting frustrated as all get-out (Okie Expression) because it is not being allowed to function in a rational manner. It has sent me numerous dialogue boxes and/or messages asking that I re-establish the link.
Mid week, I get this letter from my “friendly State Farm Agent” and it says, rather tersely, “our records indicate that your present telephone number is no longer 405- **** and that number is no longer your number. Please inform us of your new number immediately and any other cell phone numbers that you have.”
Yeah right, I don’t “immediately” do anything for anyone, yet alone a stinking insurance company. Tossing that into the trash bin … that makes me smile.
And last but not least. I think about all of my Amigo’s from down south. The mere thought of knowing I have all these wonderful people coming to this country each and everyday and they are depending on me …. Now that … Believe it or not … That makes me smile!
In the spirit of doing what I say and not what I do, one leader of the Mexican drug cartels called “The Family” has insisted that when gang members are not selling cocaine and murdering their rivals, that they attend gang-run classes in ethics, values, and personal improvement and also abstain from drugs and alcohol.
Now don’t you feel just terrible, all this time you were thinking they were just your run of the mill murdering thugs, and it turns out that they do have socially redeeming qualities after all?
While we are the subject of education. Nice blend, eh?
A woman in Irving Texas has convinced school authorities that her daughter cannot wear her shirt tails tucked in, for religious reasons. Yeppers, you read that right.
The 7 year old had been ordered to tuck in her shirt by her school principal, but she argued that she was “being persecuted” for being a Christian. The Bible requests that “woman to adorn themselves in modest apparel with propriety and moderation.” The mother said the shirt out was a necessary thing, because “she did not want her behind showing.”
Now her is a classy mother, seem to be on a mother kick this morning, don’t know why. A mother in Los Angeles did a total makeover when she hired a stripper to attend her 10 year old high school reunion in her place. Being a self conscious geek in school, she evidently could not stand the pressure of facing her classmates.
So she hired the stripper and with the aid of an ear piece she coached her stand-in counterpart, who wore, and then shed, a slinky dress and fishnet stockings.
Now there is a picture for the yearbook staff.
No brainer of the month. As a cost cutting measure, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons has been allowing prisoners to transfer themselves. Unescorted from one prison to another, who is the brainchild of this novel idea? Officials recently confirmed that “some prisoners at minimum security facilities are given bus tickets and told to make the trip to the next prison on their own.”
And of course … Here it comes … “some prisoners have used this opportunity to escape on their own.” Well ….. Duh? Despite this one apparent drawback, officials have announced that the savings are substantial.
Protecting nature. Swiss voters in the Alpine state of Appenzeil have outlawed the practice of hiking in the nude. The tiny state had been recently inundated by hikers wearing nothing but socks and boots, most of them from the neighboring country of Germany. Which reminds me, “Do you know how Germans tie their shoes?”: With little knot-sies!
Yeah, I know pretty bad. Okay moving on!
Germany, whose national culture encourages public nudity as healthy and freeing had nothing to say about this. The Appenzeil government, though, said that most residents find the swarms of nude hikers “thoroughly disturbing and irritating.”
My ancestral roots are German, Guben Germany to be exact, and if you do not believe that last statement about it being ugly and all, drop by my house any night of the week around bath time and I will prove it to you.
Macho men, such as those who read this tripe and myself, are slowly being replaced anyway, we are a dying breed. Take for instance the recent reports coming out of Japan that explicitly point to Japanese men as being more and more, classified as sissies.
The new generation of Japanese men are insufficiently macho it seems. Unlike their fathers, those young men “don’t see women as sexual objects” (what is this world coming to!) instead they are gentle in their relationship with the other sex. More men these days in Japan are interested in fashion or their own hobbies than falling in love.
Here in the west (America) men might be called metro-sexual. In Japan, they are called soushokudanshi or “grass eating men.” The grass eaters will happily graze alongside their female companions. Without any desire to mate.
Personally, being a lover of Asian women, when I see one, the last thing in the world I consider eating is … grass. And that is a fact, yeah I know, don’t write me any letters.
In all fairness and honesty. This is a problem, because Japan much like the U.S. is starting to gray out. If the birthrate declines any further, the economic decline will accelerate, as fewer workers support more and more retiree’s.
So in essence the problem intensifies with this generation of men. The modern Japanese male may be able to do without women, but Japan will not be able to do without couples and the offspring they produce.
Come on Mi-aggie-Son, go for it!
